On August 26 local time, Qatar and Kuwait officially signed a 15-year liquefied natural gas supply and marketing agreement.

This agreement was jointly signed by QatarEnergy and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and will take effect in January 2025. According to the agreement, Qatar will supply 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas to Kuwait every year.

Qatar is an important global producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas and occupies an important position in the international energy market. As an importer, the signing of this agreement will help meet Kuwait's domestic energy needs, especially in fields such as power generation.

QatarEnergy said that this agreement is the second long-term liquefied natural gas supply and marketing agreement signed with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and is of great significance for further promoting bilateral trade between the two countries. Previously in 2020, the two companies also signed a similar agreement.

The signing of this agreement not only has a profound impact on cooperation in the energy field between Qatar and Kuwait, but also attracts widespread attention in the global energy market and may have a certain impact on the future supply and market pattern of liquefied natural gas.
