Oil pipeline in eastern Colombia is attacked, causing crude oil leakage

On August 29 local time, an oil pipeline in the border area between Cesar Province and Norte de Santander Province in eastern Colombia was attacked, triggering a large-scale crude oil leakage.

It is reported that unidentified people detonated explosives near the oil pipeline in the morning, attacking crude oil infrastructure. This attack paralyzed oil transportation and caused a large amount of crude oil to leak, posing a serious threat to the local environment.

After the accident, the local government immediately launched an emergency plan to mitigate the impact on the environment. Cenit, a subsidiary of Colombia's national oil company, issued a statement saying that it has launched an emergency plan and informed relevant government departments.
