An explosion accident occurs in a power plant workshop in Armenia, resulting in 1 death and 5 injuries

On September 10, 2024 local time, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs released news that an explosion accident occurred in the foundry workshop of the Razdan Thermal Power Plant in the country. This accident caused 1 death and 5 injuries.

The Razdan Thermal Power Plant is the largest thermal power plant in Armenia. It is located near Razdan City, Kotayk Province in central Armenia. According to Armenian media reports, the foundry workshop where the explosion occurred was not in operation at that time. The deceased was identified as a man born in 1978. After the accident, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that emergency service personnel were on the scene to handle follow-up matters.
