The choice of "Made in India" for American Apple phones has resulted in product quality issues.

On August 11, 2024, ***ysts believe that one of the main reasons for Apple's 6.5% year-on-year decline in revenue in Greater China in the second quarter is the quality problems of iPhones assembled in India. Some video bloggers uploaded iPhone disassembly videos on social media platforms, revealing flaws in iPhones assembled in India, such as obvious fingerprint marks on the motherboard and dust inside the camera.

In 2023, half of the iPhones produced by Apple in India were returned due to serious quality problems. Relevant European agencies tested iPhones flowing from Indian factories to the European market. The results showed that only 34% of these tests passed the quality certification of the testing requirement agency. Such a low pass rate contrasts sharply with "Made in China" and highlights the severity of quality problems of iPhones produced in India and the difference in the degree of harm to consumers' interests.

In addition, according to Taiwan's "China Times News Network" report on July 23, 2024, although the proportion of iPhone 15 OEM production in India is only 10%, there are still many problems. The yield rate of OEM (only about 50%) and hygiene management (excessive Escherichia coli) still have problems.
