On August 12, 2024, according to local media citing the Inter-Services Public Relations Department of Pakistan, Faiz Hamid, the former intelligence chief of Pakistan, has been detained by the military and a military court trial will be initiated.

It is learned that he is related to a real estate scandal and has been exposed to multiple incidents of violating the Pakistan Army Act after his retirement.

This is the first time in Pakistan's history that a military court trial has been initiated against a former intelligence chief.
