Mohammad Yunus Will Lead the Interim Government of Bangladesh

On the evening of August 6th, Joynal Abedin, the press secretary of the president of Bangladesh, confirmed to local media that it has been decided to establish an interim government, with Mohammad Yunus serving as the chief advisor to lead the interim government.

Joynal Abedin stated that other members of the interim government will be selected through consultations with different political parties.

The chief of staff of the Bangladesh Army, Waqeel Uzzaman, said in a TV speech on the 5th that the country's prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, resigned on the same day and that an interim government would be established soon to manage the country. 

On August 6th, the president of Bangladesh, Mohammed Shahabuddin Chuadhy, announced the dissolution of the National Assembly.
