The Belgorod Oblast of Russia has entered a federal-level state of emergency

It is reported that on August 15 local time, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the Belgorod Oblast has entered a federal-level state of emergency. Before this, the oblast was already in a regional-level state of emergency.

On the 14th local time, the Belgorod Oblast decided to implement a regional-level state of emergency throughout the oblast, aiming to enhance the protection of residents and provide more assistance to the victims.

The governor of the Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, pointed out that the current situation in the oblast is extremely tense and complex. The Ukrainian armed forces have continued to carry out artillery strikes every day, resulting in damage to houses and civilian casualties. In addition, he also stated that the government of the Belgorod Oblast has submitted a request to the relevant committee of the Russian Federation government to upgrade the state of emergency in the oblast to the federal level.
