On the evening of August 18 local time, a vehicle explosion occurred in the southern part of Tel Aviv, Israel, resulting in one death and one injury.

According to The Times of Israel, that night, when a man was walking in a place in the southern part of Tel Aviv with a bag containing a bomb on his back, the bomb exploded. The man died on the spot and a passerby was injured.

It is still unclear why the bomb exploded and whether the explosion was an accident. Some police officers told the media that this might be an attempted terrorist attack.

On August 19, the "Al-Qassam Brigades," the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), claimed responsibility for the explosion and said it carried out the operation together with the "Al-Quds Brigades," the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
