BMW Group recalls over 720,000 vehicles in the United States

On August 20 local time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the German BMW Group is recalling more than 720,000 vehicles in the United States. The recall is due to the fact that an improperly sealed electrical connector on the vehicle's water pump may come into contact with water and cause a short circuit in the water pump connector.

This recall involves multiple BMW models, including the X1 and X5 crossovers as well as some 5 Series sedans. Dealers will conduct a physical inspection of the vehicles and replace the faulty parts of the affected vehicles. At the same time, a protective cover will be installed.

Affected by this, BMW's share price traded in the German market slipped on the same day. Since the beginning of this year, it has fallen by nearly 20% cumulatively.
