Two vehicles collided in Serbia, resulting in 1 death and more than 20 injuries

On August 24, 2024 local time, a serious traffic accident occurred between Umka town and Ostrožnica town on the outskirts of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. A bus unfortunately collided with a truck, and the accident caused heavy casualties.

As of now, at least one person has been confirmed to have died in this accident, and more than 20 people have been injured. Among them, six people were urgently sent to the emergency center for treatment due to serious injuries.

After the accident, emergency services, traffic police and fire rescue personnel in Belgrade quickly rushed to the scene. The traffic on the section where the accident occurred was also interrupted, causing great inconvenience to local transportation.

At present, the local police are conducting in-depth investigations into the cause of the accident to determine the specific cause and relevant responsibilities of this tragedy. The occurrence of this accident once again sounds the alarm for traffic safety and also reminds relevant departments to further strengthen the management and supervision of road traffic safety to avoid the recurrence of similar tragedies. The Serbian government also said that it will do its best to handle the aftermath of the accident and provide necessary help and support to the injured and their families. The international community also pays attention to this accident and hopes that Serbia can recover from the shadow of the accident as soon as possible and rebuild a safe and orderly traffic environment.
