On August 31 local time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that Ford will recall 90,736 vehicles in the United States.

This recall involves some 2021 - 2022 models equipped with 2.7L or 3.0L Nano EcoBoost engines, including Bronco, F - 150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus and Lincoln Aviator, etc. The recall is due to the possibility that the vehicle's engine intake valve may rupture during driving, leading to engine failure and loss of driving force.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has said that as part of the remedial measures, Ford dealers will conduct engine cycle tests and replace the engine for relevant owners free of charge if necessary.

Ford Motor Company has been committed to ensuring the quality and safety of vehicles. In June this year, Ford rose 14 places in the 2024 J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study ranking to No. 9, and the Ford Bronco Sport was named the best compact SUV. The Lincoln brand also achieved a rise in ranking through continuous improvement in quality. However, this large-scale recall caused by engine failure problems is undoubtedly a major challenge for Ford and has also attracted widespread attention from consumers and the market. How Ford will handle this recall incident in the future and how to further improve product quality and safety to regain the trust of consumers will become the focus of attention from all parties. We will also continuously follow up and report on relevant progress.
