The ruling party in Azerbaijan wins in the parliamentary elections

In the early hours of September 2, the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan announced preliminary vote-counting results showing that the ruling New Azerbaijan Party won the parliamentary elections held on the 1st and won a majority of seats in the parliament.

The voting for this parliamentary election started at 8 am local time on the 1st and ended at 19:00 on the same day. A total of 125 electoral districts and 5,447 polling stations were set up across the country. A total of 767 candidates from 16 political parties and party alliances including the New Azerbaijan Party and the Azerbaijan Democratic Party participated in the competition for 125 parliamentary seats.

According to the announcement by Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan, according to the results of counting about 91% of the ballots from 5,895 polling stations, the New Azerbaijan Party won at least 68 of the 125 seats in the National Assembly. The voter turnout for this parliamentary election was 37.27%.

The New Azerbaijan Party occupies an important position in Azerbaijani politics. Winning this election will enable it to continue to play an important role in the country's political life.
