"These Olympic medals looked great when they were first handed out, but after a while, I found that the quality wasn't that good and they looked very rough." He also attached a video showing the discolored bronze medal.

The New York Post said that this year's Olympic medals were designed by the Parisian jewelry brand CHAUMET and produced by the Paris Mint, with 2,600 medals produced for the Olympics and 2,400 for the Paralympics respectively. The Oxford Economics Institute estimates that the value of a gold medal is $1,027.

The design of the medals for this Paris Olympics was inspired by the Eiffel Tower. In the middle of each medal, a hexagonal piece of the original construction material taken from the Eiffel Tower is embedded.
