A flash flood occurs in a village in Lao Cai Province, Vietnam, killing 25 people

In the early morning of September 10, 2024, a village in Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam was hit by a severe flash flood disaster. It is understood that there are about 35 households and about more than 120 people in this village.

After the flash flood occurred, the entire village was quickly engulfed by floodwaters. As of 18:00 local time on the 10th, although more than 30 villagers were rescued, many people are still missing. As of September 11, this flash flood has caused 25 deaths. Due to the remote location of the village, traffic jams and communication interruptions have brought great difficulties to the search and rescue work.
