Recently, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France announced new sanctions against Iran on the grounds of "Iran providing missiles to Russia", which has drawn widespread attention from the international community.

US Secretary of State Blinken accused Iran of providing short-range ballistic missiles to Russia on September 10 and claimed that Russia may use these missiles in Ukraine in a few weeks. The US Treasury Department immediately announced a new round of sanctions against Iran, including measures such as freezing the assets of Iranian companies and officials "involved in providing weapons to Russia". It also confirmed that nine ships flying the Russian flag were involved in transporting weapons from Iran to Russia and listed them as "frozen assets". In addition, the US government also imposed sanctions on nine entities and ten individuals in Iran and Russia, freezing any US assets they hold, prohibiting them from entering the United States, and taking additional measures against Iran Air.

The UK also announced the termination of "all direct air links with Iran". The transport minister said that it will continue to use all available means to put pressure on Iran. France, Germany and the UK issued a joint statement, cancelling the air service agreement with Iran and planning to impose sanctions on Iran Air and other Iranian enterprises that provide weapons to Russia.

However, the Iranian side has firmly denied the accusation of providing missiles to Russia time and again. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani emphasized that the claim that "Iran provides ballistic missiles to Russia" is unfounded false information, which is to divert the attention of the outside world and cover up the support of Western countries for Israel's war crimes in the Gaza Strip. The Iranian Permanent Mission to the United Nations also issued a statement earlier, saying that Iran not only does not take such actions itself, but also calls on other countries to stop providing weapons to the conflicting parties.

Russian presidential press secretary Peskov also said that the Russian side has seen relevant reports, but not all such reports are true. Iran is an important partner of Russia. The two countries are developing economic and trade relations and will carry out cooperation and dialogue in various fields.

The new sanctions imposed by the four countries of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France on Iran have made the regional situation more tense and complex. Iran said it will respond to Western sanctions with appropriate and proportionate actions. The international community will wait and see how the situation will develop in the future.
