Unidentified disease emerges in Gujarat, India, with 15 deaths and a rising number of fever cases

In the past eight days, the number of deaths due to this mysterious fever disease in the city of Lakhpat in this region has been on the rise. It is reported that from September 3 to 7, 10 people died of this disease, and then at least five more people lost their lives. Amit Arora, a person from the Kutch district government, said that so far, tests have ruled out the possibilities of H1N1 influenza virus, swine flu, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, malaria, and dengue fever. He also emphasized that it is presumed that the unidentified fever is not an infectious disease. However, initially this mysterious disease was thought to be pneumonia.

To determine the cause, local samples collected from the deceased have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune, Maharashtra, a neighboring state, for testing. Results are expected within one to two days. Gujarat's health minister Rushikesh Patel has gone to the Kutch region to understand the situation and held a meeting with health department officials. He said that in seven villages in the Rahpat and Abdasa regions, 48 new fever cases have been found.

At present, the local government has strengthened monitoring and taken preventive measures to deal with possible emergencies.
