On September 14, 2024, news from Warsaw. Thousands of people participated in an anti-government rally organized by Poland's nationalist conservative opposition party, aiming to increase support for next year's presidential election. Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the Law and Justice Party, called on supporters to take active action on social and political levels and support the party's candidate in the election. The candidate has not been nominated yet.

Kaczyński accused the pro-EU government of acting against the national interest and violating the law. He also mentioned investigations into allegations of mismanagement and corruption under the Law and Justice Party government. Up to 4,000 people holding red and white national flags participated in the rally outside the Ministry of Justice in Warsaw. This place has become a symbol of the differences between Kaczyński's supporters and the current prime minister and the leader of the center-right Civic Platform Party, Donald Tusk.

The Law and Justice Party ruled Poland for nearly a decade from 2015 to 2023. It was criticized by Brussels and Tusk for its judicial system reform being considered undemocratic. Many Poles are also tired of Kaczyński's aggressive and divisive language. The party lost power in the 2023 elections but still exerts control through President Andrzej Duda, who is allied with the party. Duda's second term will end in August. He has been blocking many of the government's draft laws.
