Poland will apply to host the Olympic Games

On August 16, 2024 local time, Polish Prime Minister Tusk said that Poland will formally make efforts to host the Olympic Games in 2040 or 2044.

Tusk emphasized that in fact Poland has been working for several months to realize the dream of hosting the Olympic Games in Poland, and also said that as long as it perseveres, Poland can achieve great achievements. Polish Minister of Sports and Tourism Sławomir Nitras also said that hosting the Olympic Games is a great civilization project, and organizationally, Poland is ready to host the event.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Poland won a total of 10 medals, with the only gold medal coming from the women's speed climbing event.

Currently, many European countries are interested in bidding to host the Olympic Games. Countries such as Germany, Hungary and the United Kingdom have expressed interest in hosting the Olympic Games in 2036 or 2040. The next Olympic Games in 2028 are scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, USA, and the one after that in 2032 will be hosted by Brisbane, Australia.
