On August 16, 2024, Typhoon No. 7 "Ampil" approached the capital region and northeastern region of Japan, causing severe impacts on local transportation.
As of 4 a.m. on the 16th, 319 flights of Japan Airlines at Narita Airport and Haneda Airport in Japan were grounded, and 355 flights of All Nippon Airways were grounded, totaling 674 flights.
