On August 16 local time, the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) announced that the presidential election debate of the United States will be held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on September 10th, hosted by the station. Currently, both Harris and Trump have committed to attending.

The National Constitution Center holds exhibitions and activities related to the US Constitution and civic engagement. It is located next to Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where both the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were signed.

Previously, ABC announced on August 8th that Trump had agreed to debate with Harris on September 10th. Trump has stated many times recently that he hopes to participate in the debate hosted by Fox News in the United States, but the Harris team has not accepted. On July 21st, US President and Democrat Biden announced under political and public opinion pressure that he would abandon his re-election campaign and support Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate. Harris quickly gained widespread support within the Democratic Party. On the Republican side, former US President Trump became the party's presidential candidate for the third time.

Some ***ysts believe that this debate will be the first showdown between Harris and Trump after Biden withdrew from the race. The two will elaborate their positions on various key issues, and the differences in their personal styles, moral judgments, and the political ideas and social values they represent may also be fully demonstrated in the debate. At the same time, it may also expose some deep-seated contradictions in American society. This debate is expected to receive widespread attention and may also have a certain impact on the direction of the US general election.
