Jordan's Chicago mansion is hard to sell. In 12 years, the price has been reduced by more than $14 million but still no takers.

According to a report by the New York Post on August 20, the mansion of NBA legend Michael Jordan in Chicago, the United States, has recently attracted much attention. This mansion, covering an area of about 29,900 square meters, was built in 1995 and is located in the wealthy area of Highland Park, Chicago. The average local household income is about $240,000.

The mansion has luxurious facilities, including 9 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a full-size basketball court, an infinity pool, a tennis court, etc. It also provides parking spaces for 14 cars and a heated driveway to deal with the cold in winter. The room decoration style commemorates Jordan's NBA career.

In 2012, Jordan put this mansion up for sale at a price of $29 million. Later, although the price was reduced to $14,855,000, and the sum of the price figures is exactly his famous jersey number 23, it is still difficult to find a buyer. Recently, a video of the mansion filmed by a "city explorer" about 8 months ago went viral on social media. The video shows that the mansion has been abandoned, there is accumulated water on the basketball court, and the gym is in disrepair.

Although there are countless connections with Jordan, it is very difficult to sell this mansion. The selling prices of nearby houses are much lower than Jordan's mansion and are easy to sell. For example, a house with 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms was sold 17 days after being listed for $1.6 million. Another house just an 8-minute drive away was sold for $1.3 million. In the past 4 months, at least 6 houses worth more than $1 million in the same community have been sold. To sell it as soon as possible, Jordan even offered a pair of each signed version of Air Jordans basketball shoes to the buyer.

The documentary "The Last Dance" about Jordan's career that aired in 2020 once sparked strong interest in the mansion, but last year an 18-year-old man was still arrested for trying to break into the mansion. Now, Jordan, who has ended his playing career, mainly lives in North Carolina. This summer, someone saw him and his wife vacationing on a yacht in the Mediterranean. After selling most of the Hornets' equity last year, Jordan's net worth exceeded $3 billion, making him the first athlete in North America to enter Forbes' "America's 400 Richest People List".
