An Indian bus overturned in Nepal, resulting in 27 deaths

On August 23 local time, a serious bus accident occurred in Dhankuta District, Nepal. The Indian bus carrying 43 people overturned. The bus was traveling from Pokhara, a tourist destination in Nepal, to Kathmandu. During the journey, it accidentally overturned and rolled down to the riverbank.

This accident had tragic consequences. As of now, 27 people have unfortunately died and 16 people have been injured. District Chief of Dhankuta District, Janardan Gautam, said that the injured have been urgently sent to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, for treatment.

Deepak Kumar, spokesperson for the Dhankuta District police, told Xinhua News Agency reporters that after the accident, due to the obstruction of huge rocks, the bus did not fall into the river. Otherwise, the consequences could have been even more disastrous.

After the accident, relevant local departments quickly launched rescue operations. Rescuers raced against time to rescue the injured and clean up the accident scene.
