In the early morning of August 24, 2024, the Israeli army launched bombings on the eastern part of Khan Yunis and the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian News Agency, this bombing had extremely serious consequences, resulting in 12 deaths and 15 injuries. Among the dead were two children and a woman.

According to news from the civil defense department in the Gaza Strip, in the past day, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have also destroyed multiple residences and a school located south of Gaza City. Since the outbreak of the new round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October last year, Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip have caused more than 40,000 Palestinians to die and more than 93,000 to be injured. The local humanitarian disaster is constantly intensifying, but a ceasefire has been slow to be achieved.

Just on August 23, ceasefire negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) were held in Cairo, Egypt. However, due to Israel's insistence on maintaining a military presence in strategic locations in the Gaza Strip, the negotiations are difficult to advance.

This incident of Israel's bombing of Gaza refugee camps has attracted widespread attention from the international community. All parties have condemned Israel's actions and called for the realization of a ceasefire as soon as possible to avoid more civilian casualties and humanitarian disasters. At present, Israel has no response to this. The international community is closely following the development of the situation and making efforts to promote the process of a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
