At 04:13 on September 2, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Solomon Islands (6.85 degrees south latitude, 155.45 degrees east longitude). The focal depth is 70 kilometers.

The Solomon Islands are located in the southwest Pacific Ocean and belong to the Melanesian Islands. This area is at the junction of plates, with complex geological structures and relatively frequent seismic activities.
