The US police had noticed the shooter and alerted the Secret Service before the Trump rally shooting incident.

In the news on August 8, according to the newly released police body camera footage, some police officers saw the shooter, Crooks, before the shooting incident at the rally of former US President Trump on July 13 and warned the Secret Service via radio.

The video also shows that local police had warned the Secret Service several days before the rally that more police forces were needed near the building where Crooks opened fire, but the Secret Service failed to effectively implement these suggestions.

Former US President Trump was the target of an "attempted assassination" at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on the evening of July 13. According to the US Secret Service, a shooter "fired several shots" from a height outside the rally venue towards the podium where Trump was speaking, and the shooter was killed by Secret Service personnel.
