The US Ambassador to Paraguay, Osfield, Has Been Asked to Leave the Country as Soon as Possible

On August 8, the Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department announced sanctions on the Paraguayan tobacco company, which is considered an act of infringing on the country's independent sovereignty. At the same time, the Paraguayan government rejected the "mediatized and politicized remarks" recently made by the US Ambassador to Paraguay, Osfield, on this matter. Therefore, the Paraguayan side has asked Osfield to expedite the completion of the departure procedures and leave the country as soon as possible.
