On September 6 local time, a distressing shooting incident occurred at a high school in Harford County, Maryland, USA.

It is reported that it was the first day of school for the 16-year-old boy at Joppatowne High School. After getting into an argument with others, this boy actually shot and killed a 15-year-old classmate named Grant. Although the school's security guards and principal did not hear the gunshot at first, they noticed the commotion caused by the shooting incident. The students quickly transferred the injured Grant to the corridor, and the school medical staff also provided emergency treatment, but Grant unfortunately died in the end.

The shooter was arrested by the police shortly after fleeing the scene. Bulson, the head of Harford County Public Schools, is deeply distressed and said that he will do everything possible to work with the community to ensure that such tragedies never happen again.

Just a few days before this shooting incident, on September 4 local time, a malicious shooting incident also occurred at Appalachian High School in Barrow County, Georgia. A 14-year-old student named Gray is suspected of shooting and killing two students and two teachers, and another nine people were injured.

Frequent school shootings in the United States have once again sounded an alarm for society and also attracted extensive attention from American public opinion. People have called for strengthened gun control to ensure the safety of students on campus. Students have to worry about the threat of shooters while attending classes in the classroom. This is undoubtedly a severe challenge to social security and the educational environment. Relevant departments said they will conduct in-depth investigations into this shooting incident to find out the detailed process and cause of the incident and give an explanation to the families of the victims and society. And how to effectively prevent the recurrence of school shootings has also become an important issue that American society urgently needs to solve.
