Venezuela submits a diplomatic note to the Netherlands and strongly protests against Dutch interference in its internal affairs

On September 9 local time, the Venezuelan vice minister for European affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Coromoto Godoy, submitted a diplomatic note to the chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Dutch embassy in Venezuela, Robert Schuddeboom, and lodged the strongest protest against the Netherlands' act of interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs.

It is reported that the trigger for this incident was that Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González entered the Dutch embassy in Venezuela to seek political asylum, while the Dutch diplomatic representative in Venezuela concealed this situation. The Dutch foreign minister previously released a document on the Internet stating that González entered the Dutch embassy in Venezuela to seek asylum after the Venezuelan election. At the beginning of September, González decided to leave the Dutch embassy and enter the neighboring Spanish embassy in Venezuela to seek asylum.
