Shooting incident in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina leaves one dead and one injured

A shooting incident occurred near Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, resulting in one death and one injury.

On August 20 local time, the police in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that a serious shooting incident occurred near Trebinje in the south of the country on August 19. This incident caused one death, including the gunman, and one injury.

The spokesperson of the Trebinje City Police Department introduced at a press conference on August 20 that on the evening of August 19, a foreign man occupied an abandoned house in a nearby village and then opened fire on villagers and police who rushed to the scene and also threw explosives. During the exchange of fire, the police successfully killed this man. At the same time, a villager was injured and sent to the hospital for treatment. Currently, the condition is stable.

The local police revealed that this foreign man was armed with automatic and semi-automatic weapons and was shouting religious slogans at the time of the incident. To ensure regional security, the police have strengthened patrols and surveillance in this area.
